An OCD's Nightmare!!

Ben and I were having a late night Walmart run together and we came across this-the dreaded "box-o-dvd's". This box drives me absolutely bonkers!!!! I just can't stand how there is just this huge tub full of hundreds of not organized dvds. We quickly walked away, cause it is just too overwhelming to me! Ben says it's an OCD person's worst nightmare! haha

Randoms!

This post has a few random things that I didn't know where to fit anywhere else!

Sundrop! I am a DC(Diet Coke)-aholic! This is always my drink of choice! But, while I am in NC, I love to get Diet Sundrop! For some horrible reason, they don't have Sundrop everywhere like other soda. I drank it growing up, but then noticed in the other states that I lived in, that it was nowhere to be found! What a shame! I did see on their website, that they deliver!!
Memories! I was helping Kate clean the kitchen the other night, and saw this and thought I would share. My parent's have remodeled several rooms in their house within the last few years, one of them being the kitchen. I remember when we were growing up, my parents would always have us stand with our back to the wall, and measure how tall were were getting. So with the remodel, I just love the fact that they decided not to paint over this memory! They kept the measurements up with the old wallpaper and then framed it! Priceless!
Can I say that I am still in shock and I am back home from the store!!! Stirrup leggings are back!!!!! I HATE these things!!! I was shopping today and turned around and seriously could not believe that these were being sold!! On what planet did or will these things look good on anyone. I looked bad enough in elementary school with them on! Well it ain't happening again for Maggie! I would look a hot mess in these things! I think they should be boycotted! haha

Quick Reflexes!!

Today was interesting! My Mom and I had parked at the mall about to get out, and we got a call from my Dad. He said that he had been in an accident. He said he was fine but that we needed to come get him and that he had already called 911. So we rushed over there, and this is what we found:
Now let me give you a little background. This is my Dad's electric blue Aerostar van. You can't miss it when you are driving around town and I don't think they even make these things anymore! He has always driven a Ford Aerostar, because of his leg, as far back as I can remember. But I will say we all were in shock when he got this last one! It drives like a tanker, but I guess it gets the job done. When we drove up to the accident, this is what we saw. I will have to tell you, knowing that no one was hurt and it was just bushes, when my Mom and I pulled into the scene, we were dying laughing at how funny his electric blue van looked up on a hill covered in bushes!
Apparently, my Dad was about to take a left hand turn at an intersection, and hit the brakes, and got nothing. They went straight to the floor. So, with his quick reflexes, he had three decisons to make: run into someone, fly through an intersection and get hit, or go up a hill off the road. So, he decided to go with third choice, take a right, which thankfully no one was in the other lane. He was pretty shaken up when we got there. He said that it was one of the scariest things, having absolutely no control over what was going on. So thankful for his quick reflexes!!
So right now, the blue tank is at the shop! But seriously, I am so thankful no one was hurt! Thank you Lord for looking out for my Dad!!!

Believing God Update

Ok folks! I have officially completed week 2 of my Believing God Bible Study! I told ya I was serious about this one! I am loving the study so far and have even stayed somewhat strict about it during my trip to NC (not 100%- but way better than I thought I would do!) Week 3 is titled "Believing God Can Do What He Says He Can Do".
I'll check in again in a few weeks with another update!

My Dad has done some amazing things in the backyard! He just repainted and did a whole revamp to his shop! It looks so good!
That's my Dad in front of the shop!
Part of the inside! He's got a radio hooked up with speakers so he can listen to the radio while he's out there working!
I thought this feature that he built was SO cool!
He built a secret cubby hole that opens up to catch all the sawdust from the saw.
The sawdust falls into the trash can below! I love how he thinks this stuff up!

He also built a big greenhouse next to the shop. When I say he built it, I mean he really built all this by himself! He grows tons of different plants in here!

This was one of my other favorite things that he built!
He built this feature where you can slide the opening closed, so that the heat in the winter time won't escape the greenhouse!
So when you sit outside in the heat, the fan blows air on you! I sat there-it's some powerful air!
He also built this!
The inside!
My Dad is also growing tomatoes! In the past ten years has really gotten into gardening. He always said that he loves it because where he grew up in the Bronx they lived in an apartment with no land. Now that he has some land to do this on, he absolutely loves it!

Katie's Day!!

It's my sister's birthday today! The big 23!!
So we started the day opening presents!! She got the Columbia jacket she wanted and some other great stuff!!
Then we headed to Southport, North Carolina! We used to go when we were little, but hadn't been in a long time! My Mom thought it would be a fun place to go for Kate's birthday!
We rode the ferry from Fort Fisher. It was an absolutely beautiful day!!
I love that you can ride your car right onto the ferry!
Family Shot!

Lunch:
This was a really cool restaurant in Southport that we ate at after we got off the ferry. You walk in, they let you get your drinks, they take something from you like your sunglasses to save your table, and then you go in a line and order off the menu. Then you go sit down and they bring your food to you. It was a little chaotic, but well worth the food, and the view. ( I got the lunch special, which was crab cake and seasoned shrimp :)
Then for dessert, we went to Port City Java for Mocha Shakes! This, NOT Starbucks, is the place to get coffee in Wilmington and surrounding areas! I LOVE Mocha Shakes!
Then we headed to the old county jail! It was really cool inside!
It was a great day! And it's still not done! Going to get ready for dinner! We are headed to Katie's favorite french restaurant Brasserie du Soleil!

Britts

This has to be THE best donut shop in the world! I always look forward to coming here when I visit Wilmington! If you ever have the chance to visit Wilmington, you have got to go to Carolina Beach and try a Britts donut! Out of this world!!!

Whitney "THE VOICE" is Back!!!!!!

Ok, I am writing this and getting all giddy as I type! I have MISSED her!!!
Whitney Houston is one of my all time favorite singers. I remember when I was little I used to go on the back porch with my walkman-(yes walkman:) and sing through both sides of the cassette tape with Whitney. I would shut the door to my room and sit for hours in front of the stereo and sing with Whitney Houston! I knew every word to every song! I know she has had some rough times, but I love her!!! Can't wait to buy the album!!!!

So, I am a LITTLE excited she is BACK!!!!! Here is a link to her new single!! Click Here

Believing God

Just started this new Bible study, and am really excited about it. I am really determined to actually complete this one! I always have a real hard time sticking with Bible studies. I'll get going and be really excited about it, and then I slack off, or something's going on where I can't make it that night, and little by little, I get off track. So, with that being said, I am hereby stating that I WILL complete this one!! One verse that I read today while doing my study was in Isaiah 54:10. Man I love this verse. No matter what I do, or what happens all around me, God has this amazing unfailing love for me!

"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed" says the Lord , who has compassion on you. Isaiah 54:10

(@geraldmalloy hard to believe, but, IT IS TRUE! haha)

Arabic Meal!

Just recently had the chance to have some Arabic food! Now when I first was told that's what we were eating, I felt like i was doing something illegal. As if I was eating the "bad guys" food.
I can't tell you how good this meal is!!!!! The picture below is of the kabobs that go with the meal, and I realize that looks pretty American. With the meal is this special kind of rice, and then this amazing sauce that goes over all of it! This meal is one of my favorites!!!!!!

Got 'Em Back!

I love it when I get my rings cleaned! The only thing that is weird is going without them for a week! Ben isn't a big fan, but I love how clean they are when I get them back!

YIKES!

This is a picture of a room in a hoarder's home.

(NOT MINE-FOUND IT ON GOOGLE haha)

A hoarder is someone who is like an EXTREME pack rat. They never throw anything out, and can't. Psychologically, they can't or don't want to get rid of stuff. I was watching a show on A&E last night. They have a weekly show called "Hoarders". I am telling you, I was in shock! I just couldn't believe that these people live like this. Anyway, I thought about watching this weekly, because after I got done watching, i had this strong feeling of wanting to clean and throw out everything. It made the clean laundry pile I have on the couch not seem so messy! haha But anyway, I think this may be one of my new shows. It is just so interesting to see how these people really think that they need to be surrounded by junk! Sad that people really struggle with this!

YIKES!!!
